Our speaker, James Dauphinais, will give a brief overview of the electric distribution system including how transportation works on the system in our region and then talk about MISO and how it bears a notable impact to Illinois and Missouri electric users.

Mr. Dauphinais was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hartford. He has also completed several graduate level power systems engineering courses through the Engineering Outreach Program of the University of Idaho. Prior to joining Brubaker & Associates, Inc. (“BAI”) Mr. Dauphinais was a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer for Northeast Utilities. In his twelve and one-half year at Northeast Utilities he was responsible for completing thermal, voltage and stability transmission studies in support of the operating and planning decisions of Northeast Utilities. Mr. Dauphinais was also responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the administration of Northeast Utilities Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”) filed Open Access Transmission Tariff. He was the recipient of Northeast Utilities highest employee award, the Chairman’s Award, for his work on power system stability issues.

Since joining BAI in 1997, Mr. Dauphinais has been involved with, and testified before the FERC, many state regulatory commissions and the Alberta Utilities Commission with regard to many important electric utility issues.
